If you want to be a nurse but don’t have the relevant qualifications or experience, we recommend that you apply for a job as a healthcare assistant.

Healthcare assistants are essential supporting members of the team, providing personal care to patients, including washing, dressing and making sure they’re comfortable.

Although there are no set entry requirements for the role, you may want to consider volunteering, shadowing or work experience in order to gain an understanding of the job requirements and strengthen your application.

If you don’t have them already, we’ll be able to support you to complete your functional skills qualifications in maths and English, as well as your Care Certificate. Following this, you will also have the opportunity to complete a level 3 qualification in clinical healthcare support.
