Volunteering

Volunteering can be a brilliant way to start or reignite your career. Not only does it look fantastic on your CV, but it can be of huge benefit to you personally. There’s a variety of different voluntary roles across the Trust, all of which will give you valuable hands on experience, enable you to obtain a reference, develop new skills and build your confidence.

Volunteering at UHS can involve anything from supporting the work of our chaplains to guiding patients and their friends and family around the hospital. We have volunteers who offer counselling to people affected by cancer, some that provide technical support to the hospital radio and others who lead and facilitate scouting activities on the children’s wards.

We have over 1000 volunteers at UHS and they are an extremely important part of our organisation. So if you’d like to contribute to supporting our patients in an environment where you truly matter, and feel a personal sense of pride and achievement, why not become a volunteer?
