An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated phlebotomist to join the team in Cancer Care at University Hospitals Southampton. Phlebotomists in Cancer Care support patients by providing the essential care involving placing cannulas for treatments, and taking blood tests. Diagnostics, treatment plans, research and so much more depend on these results and skills and so our phlebotomy team are integral to the service. 
Our phlebotomy team rotate to ensure both our wards and our Cancer Care Clinics are covered and the essential bloods are taken therefore for both our inpatients and outpatients. 
Wards include C2, C4, C6, TYA, D12 and Macmillan Acute Oncology Service. 
Our outpatient service is based on D level East Wing where patients attending various different clinics will be booked for blood tests before or after being seen by their specialists.
The phlebotomy service may also support and is also part of C7, the haematology day unit
Our goal is to provide all our patients who are undergoing cancer diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care with gold standard support and compassion, and hope to grow our wonderful team phlebotomists who pay a key role in providing this care.
