The role of a cancer support worker is to provide non-clinical support to patients diagnosed with lung cancer, ensuring timely access to information, emotional support, and practical guidance throughout their care pathway. 

As a cancer support worker you will enhance patient outcomes and organisational performance by improving care coordination, increasing efficiency, and delivering personalised support that empowers patients.

As a cancer support worker you will report to the lung cancer clinical nurse specialist team, and be integral to the wider lung cancer multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working primarily alongside: Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs), Oncologists and respiratory consultants, Allied health professionals (e.g., physiotherapists, dietitians), Administrative and pathway coordinators.
