Job Title: Clinical Scientist - Radiation Protection

Contract Type: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. We are seeking applications from HCPC registered staff with a good working knowledge of ionising and non-ionising radiation protection, management of radioactive materials and diagnostic radiology physics.  The role is not open to those looking for training positions. 

The role supports the the use of ionising and non-ionising radiation across the organisation to enable safe and effective treatment and diagnosis for patients, and ensure staff safety.

The post reports to one of the senior team within the Radiation Protection Group in Medical Physics.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include....

To assist the Radiation Protection Adviser in the provision of ionising radiation protection services to the Trust and other clients 

To assist the Laser Protection Adviser with the provision of non-ionising radiation protection services to the Trust and other clients.

To support the work of the Medical Physics Experts by participating in a program of X-ray QA surveys and optimisation projects for local and client sites.
