We are looking for  a highly skilled  HCPC registered Paediatric Dietitian, to join the paediatric dietetic team (approximately 25 dietitians) at Southampton Children's Hospital as a band 7 paediatric dietitian for PICU. You will be an integral member of the well respected multidisciplinary PICU team and work on the 14 bed purpose built unit, providing nutritional expertise, overseeing enteral and parenteral nutrition and working across specialisms to provide integrated care to children from 0-18 years of age.

We are a large, diverse team and there are excellent opportunities for CPD and career development. We have access to the paediatric grand round education events and have strong links with Southampton University. Audit, service evaluation, QI and research projects are actively encouraged.
We offer protected CPD time and you will have regular one-to-one supervision.

We are a registered trainer for student dietetic placements and the paediatric team won the University of Winchester Placement Educator of the Year Award 2023.

Southampton Children’s Hospital (SCH) leads the UK as one of the top three paediatric treatment centres, providing world class medical care for children across the south of England and further afield.

We are the lead centre for paediatric intensive care in South Central England. Our 14 bed purpose built unit cares for children from birth up to 18 years of age.

We care for patients with some of the most complex illnesses and injuries and work closely with specialists from all surgical and medical areas.

The unit, which looks after 950 to 1,000 patients per year from across southern and central England, is the sixth largest PICU in the UK by number of admissions and has one of the best survival rates. Children are referred to us from hospitals as far afield as Plymouth, Milton Keynes and the Channel Islands. We also have a 24-hour retrieval service.

Our team also provides medical and nursing training and has close links with the University of Southampton. We are actively involved in research and have made significant contributions to all the large national and international collaborative PICU studies.

All staff have free  access to the onsite  Wellbeing Hub and  gym. There is a low cost, secure and efficient park and ride scheme.

Our department is open  Monday to Friday  8-5.
