The fellowship offers 12 months in a busy tertiary referral centre for pelvic floor disorders. The unit provides patients with all conservative and surgical treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction. The successful candidate will work within a large multi-disciplinary team managing complex pelvic floor dysfunction including multi-compartment disorders, abnormalities in gastrointestinal motility and complications of pelvic mesh surgery.
University Hospital Southampton has a large colorectal department that also deals with complex and recurrent colorectal cancer, robotics, intestinal failure and abdominal wall reconstruction. Whilst the focus of the fellowship will on developing clinical and operative skills in the field of pelvic floor surgery, opportunities to see other aspects of colorectal practice will be possible.
