This is an excellent one year advanced endoscopy fellowship offering bespoke training in therapeutic luminal and/or hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) endoscopy, to start ASAP.
The post is ideally suited to senior trainees from medical, surgical, or radiology backgrounds, or post CCT clinicians, who wish to consolidate and further develop advanced endoscopic skills within a high volume tertiary referral setting. University Hospital Southampton (UHS) is a regional and national referral centre for cancer care and complex endoscopy, providing extensive exposure to a broad range of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Training is delivered by experienced faculty with recognised expertise in complex endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), and diagnostic and therapeutic EUS and ERCP. Advanced HPB training includes access to specialist techniques such as EUS guided biliary drainage and SpyGlass cholangioscopy, among other advanced interventions.
The fellowship can be tailored to individual training needs and career goals, allowing focused development in luminal or HPB endoscopy as appropriate. In addition, the post includes service endoscopy sessions, enabling consolidation of skills, progression towards procedural independence, and experience within a busy, well supported endoscopy unit.
