The appointment is for a full time Clinical Fellowship in Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. The post has been developed to support the Wessex Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy Program (WBMT&CTP).

This post will be ideal for those who has some general haematology training, and is seeking additional experience in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy.

The anticipated start date is in September 2026. This is a fixed-term appointment for a period of 1 year. The posts can be tailored to fit the needs of candidates, including those post-CCT or who have undertaken haematology training oversees who wish to obtain specific subspecialty experience. 

The WBMT&CTP has been providing an allogeneic transplant programme to a large geographical area encompassing the Wessex region since 2001 with a catchment population of 3.7 million. The programme performs approximately 140 autologous transplants per annum, mainly for patients with myeloma or lymphoma, and approximately 50 allogeneic transplants per year. The unit delivers outcomes that are some of the best in Europe. The post holder will join the Department of Clinical Haematology and participate in all aspect of the management of patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
