An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Matron within the Neurosciences Care Group. As part of the management team within Neurosciences, your role will be fundamental in developing the focus of the patient experience and the quality agenda. You will be working with the Divisional Head of Nursing, Associate Divisional Director of nursing, Care Group Manager, Care Group Clinical Lead and Matron colleagues as well as an extensive multi-disciplinary team.  

The Wessex neurological centre (WNC) provides a dedicated, integrated 24-hour acute neurosurgical, neurological, spinal and stroke assessment, investigation, and treatment service.

Sitting within a large teaching hospital, it has clear priorities for maintaining high standards of care and developing specialist services for the community and purchasers of the former Wessex region, West Sussex, and the Channel Islands. The post holder will effectively lead and support the management of a variety of wards/departments, including the following: - Spinal unit, Hyper acute stroke unit, Stroke rehab, regional transfer unit and D/E Neuro (admission/step down beds for patients who are transferred from neuro ICU).
