The Wessex Regional Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Cancer Service is looking to appoint an enthusiastic senior sister/charge nurse to take a key role in the running and further development of the service. Based at the Southampton Cancer Centre, University Hospital Southampton (UHS). This is a permanent post for a Ward Leader to help run the C6 Teenage and Young Adult inpatient and outpatient areas.

A dedicated age appropriate facility for TYA patients (aged 16-24 years), funded by a charitable grant from the Teenage Cancer Trust, was opened at SGH in September 2013. It comprises of 6 inpatient beds and 4 day care areas. The Unit serves young adult patients in the Central South Coast Region, Dorset and the Channel Islands. The post holder will be a pivotal member of the TYA multidisciplinary team which provides medical, social, psychological and emotional support to this patient population.
