We are seeking a motivated and experienced Band 6 Sister to join the Division A Theatres team at Lymington and New Forest Hospital, within Knightwood Ward at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. This role is offered as either a permanent full‑time position or a 12‑month secondment opportunity full-time, part-time role can be considered as long as it meets the need of the service.

The Band 6 Ward Sister provides clinical and professional leadership to the ward team, supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality, and compassionate patient care. This role is central to coordinating day‑to‑day ward activity, supporting staff development, and ensuring care is delivered in line with Trust values, policies, and standards.

The postholder will positively impact patient outcomes by promoting best practice, maintaining clinical governance, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives that support organisational objectives, patient safety, and experience.

The Ward Sister reports to the Ward Manager/Matron and works closely with the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, allied health professionals, and operational colleagues, to ensure effective and coordinated care delivery.
