An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of a full time senior scrub theatre practitioner ( Band 6) to join our CEPOD team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation trust. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and dynamic individual with excellent scrub skills in general surgery theatres along with good communication and organisational skills to support the team in achieving  high standards of patient care within the CEPOD theatres.    

CEPOD team manages two CEPOD theatres , Acute surgery unit list and Plastic surgery list. We handle approximately 300 emergency cases each month. Our main CEPOD theatre is a very fast paced service which runs 24/7and covers a wide range of general surgery specialities such as Vascular,Thoracic,HPB,UGI,Colorectal,Paediatric , Urology, ENT and Max Fax. last  year we were proud to receive the UHS championship award for the service improvement, acknowledging the advancements made within our service.

You will be required to coordinate and manage CEPOD theatres , ASU and plastic list. You should have broad knowledge and skills in scrubbing for all CEPOD cases as well as the ability to support and guide the junior staffs. Also, confident decision making ability in critical  and challenging situation is inevitable to this role. The post holder will have an important role in working collaboratively with the team leader, other band 6 colleagues, matron and the CEPOD clinical leads.
