Are you ready to play a pivotal role in improving patient flow and ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time? As a Complex Discharge Operational Lead, you’ll take the lead in driving timely and effective discharge for some of the most complex patients, helping to reduce delays and improve patient experience across the Trust.
In this role, you’ll support the Complex Discharge Manager in the day-to-day operational running of the Integrated Discharge Bureau (IDB), ensuring the team delivers against key performance targets and continuously improves how we manage complex and delayed discharges. Your work will directly contribute to reducing length of stay, unblocking system pressures, and supporting the wider Hospital to Home agenda.
You’ll have a significant impact across the organisation — working closely with wards, clinical teams, social care partners, and families to proactively remove barriers and ensure safe, effective discharge planning for patients with highly complex needs.
You’ll report to the Complex Discharge Manager and will line manage Complex Discharge Team Leads, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure high-performing, patient-focused services. You’ll also collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the Trust and system partners, making this a highly visible and influential role.
